What we covered

The first Robopsychology Salon took place at The Commons in San Francisco on October 6. Anna Mikeda walked through what research says about living with AI, in four parts of a person: minds, hearts, bodies and hands.

Minds, hearts and bodies each set out what the studies show and what nobody knows yet. Hands was about what to do about it. The evidence is young. Most studies run for weeks, some are small, and much of the largest data comes from the AI companies themselves, so every study in the talk is marked by its strength in the Atlas.

Minds

How our thinking changes

What nobody knows yet
  • Does the debt last?
  • Which skills can we let go?
  • Who pays?

Hearts

Whom we turn to

What nobody knows yet
  • Replace, or fill a gap?
  • Agreed with, or understood?
  • What is owed?

Bodies

Why we can’t stop

What nobody knows yet
  • Flow, or the loop?
  • What about the body?
  • Habit, or good tool?

Hands

How we can do it better

What to do about it
  • Pick three of twelve small moves
  • Curate what your AI remembers about you
  • Build small tools for your own community

What to do about it

The practical part of the talk: small tools for thinking, relating and working with AI, each tied to the research behind it.
